I changed my "LANG" to "ta_IN.UTF-8" (Tamil + India + UTF-8), and some other configuration settings. The "Monospace" font in Gnome-Terminal and XFCE Terminal, has got replaced by some font which is not constant-width. Text selection, and spacing, of Tamil script on Firefox, have become ugly. I suspect that these problems are being caused by the locale file.
Could anyone help fix the locale file, as I am not familiar with this format? I will help with the details of the language, and the script. I am using Debian Etch, and the included "/usr/share/i18n/locales/ta_IN" appears to be carelessly written. -- Masatran, R.
