Please stop using html formatted emails. Just use plain text. If all you need is a C++ compiler, apt-get it. The exact command looks like apt-get install g++ If you are interested in a specific g++ version then look for available versions $apt-cache search g++ | grep g++ and then install the corresponding package available. For example, you would do sudo apt-get install g++-4.2 to install the 4.2 version of g++. > So I downloaded libstdc++c-4.1-dev_4.1.1_21_i386.deb,tried to > install "Error:Dependency is not satisfiable:g++-4.1" > > Now I downloaded and tried to install g++-4.1_4.1.1-21_i386.deb > "Error:Dependency is not satisfiable: libstdc++6-4.1-dev" > > Things seem to be going into an infinite loop. What do I do from here. Any > suggesstion, please? apt-get pulls in all the necessary dependencies. You need not download all the .deb files and install them individually. apt-get will do that for you. That is its job. raju -- Kamaraju S Kusumanchi http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/kk288/ http://malayamaarutham.blogspot.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to with a subject of "unsubscribe".
