A quick update:

On switching to 1.0rc3-3 from unstable I have regained the use of my
alt key, but I still have the problem of losing the first key press
whenever I switch windows. This affects all programs I have used - xterm,
emacs22, firefox, xdvi. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
