It looks like a workaround to me. I am wondering for many years now when whitespace handling will be managed automatically, natively, just out of the box. Do i understand it right now, and it's still just not implemented ? I'm talking about this: chown -R me:you /deepfolder <enter> Why doesn't it work this way, given that whitespaced filenames are quite common since many years especially in multimedia ? My hope was that i simply missed to learn the easy way (for example, configuring the IFS?) I mean, file management is one of the most frequent jobs i can think of. ° /\/
