That example gave you a 1 Mg file...

Once you have the loop successfully created, you will have to make a
filestem on it:

mke2fs -c /dev/loop[]

then you can mount it:

mount /dev/loop[] /mnt (or wherever), then you can write to it in an
encrypted manner..
