Perhaps I should consider switching from "ibid." to "idem" .. which I
believe is semantically more correct and is really what one should use
in these circumstances to convey the idea of "same remark" .. 

I try to stay away from buzz words .. acronyms .. and obscure locutions
in general .. The reason I tend to use "ibid." without giving it much
thought is that I have never found a concise equivalent in the English
language. 

And .. er .. not "Ibid" but _I_ ..  is the biggest bloody authority on
everything .. in case you gentleman around here had somehow failed to
notice.
