Even etch has kernel 2.6.18-4-686. Might I suggest you're due for an upgrade for security reasons. [snip] So, if I understand you, you only need to get flash sound working. The flashplayer version 9 (current) only supports alsa, so perhaps you're still using an old version 7 (which only supports oss)? Also, do search the archives as sound issues have been discussed frequently since etch was released as stable.
