Oh, yeah, you don't have a firewall set up. I originally thought that you meant you have an iptables firewall set up and that may be your problem. I doubt setting up iptables will fix your problem, but it's always worth a shot I guess. I really have no idea what could be going on; Are you losing the lease on your IP (That is if it is dynamically assigned through DHCP).
