I recently upgraded from kernel 2.2.x to 2.4.20 (to get support for the
Promise ATA/133 controller). Now I can't burn CD's.

I have my boot drive on the motherboard's IDE controller, channel 0, two CD
drives, a reader and the RW drive, on channel 1, and a 20 gig Maxtor drive
on the Promise card's channel 0.

Everything works great, unless I try to burn CD's. I can mount a CD-ROM in
either optical drive and read them just fine. However, even if I modprobe
ide-scsi, sr_mod, and sg, "cdrecord -scanbus" reports no SCSI devices and
neither it nor cdrdao can write to the drive.

Frustrating.

Any suggestions?
