You are correct, I use the TV as a second monitor, mainly to watch video on the TV so the whole family can easily see it. I have an S-Video cable (s-video on both ends) and yes, I get color. As for which settings are for the TV only, I cannot tell you, but I think the message that Don Hayward wrote has all the information. The TVOverScan is a new one to me as well.
