No such problems here, using a config very like the default. Did you
leave your Sarge version of /etc/squid/squid.conf in place, or did you
overwrite it with the new version? You can review the differences with
the following command.

    diff /etc/squid/squid.conf /usr/share/doc/squid/examples/squid.conf
