I just go through aptitude interactive manually. New versions of
packages may have different depends and recommends. The list of
_manually_ installed packages isn't really that huge.
For example, on my amd64 box:
aptitude search '~i!~M' | wc
shows 288 packages, vs 806 just ~i.
