I'm using gparted to partition and lay down a filesystem on a hard drive

partition is mounted. Is there a way to stop this automatic mounting?
Not an answer for you (probably some nautilus configuration, if you
use GNOME), but how does it manage to mount a partition without a
filesystem? What do you see in the mounted partition?
