ok I have VIA mainboard for AMD processor, linux kernel 2.4.18 and soundcard on board and that is a problem, soundcard is AC97 compatible(saw it in windows, and lspci), I have even installed sndconfig, and it can't find a right module, I tried with them all.Sound mixer is wmmixer, so question is how can I make my sound card work(it would be nice to do that without kernel recompilation )
