I tried 0.6.7 from http://debian.space-based.de repository (given on http://www.initng.org/wiki/Install_Debian_Ubuntu ) and it booted the machine the first time. Then I thought of benchmarking both of them. After I was done with making a bootchart for init, I tried doing the same with initng and from that boot onwards it gave me errors that it wasn't able to start system/mountfs or system/checkfs daemons! Back to sysvinit :(
Can you be more specific on the errors? -- Software is like sex: it is better when it is free.
