I use iceweasel for web browsing. A few weeks ago I noticed that I could no longer scroll up and down in nytimes web pages using the up and down arrow keys. I tried lots of things, and finally found a correlation:
The problem starts after I visit www.google.com . (For a long time, it _always_ happened because I had Google and my home page) After I visit that site, if I go to www.nytimes.com arrow key scrolling doesn't work in that window, but still works in other windows that I had open, and in new windows that I open. I can clear the problem by visiting flagship.vanguard.com/VGApp/hnw/HomepageOverview , clicking on the window and pressing an up or down arrow key, and then going back to www.nytimes.com. So I have a 'solution/work-around', but it is time consuming. What could Google be doing that messes up scrolling? What is vanguard doing that clears the condition? If I knew maybe I maybe could write a local web page that would quickly clear it. Or maybe get nytimes to include whatever vanguard is doing in the nytimes page.
