hm. are you sure you haven't inserted a space between /dev/dvd and the '=' symbol? That is weird as I've used that very command many times. Has this worked in the past for you and recently changed?One more question, does /dev/dvd exist? and what does it point to?
The device is /dev/scd0. I once inserted a CD-RW disk into the tray, however, I can not re-produce this problem now. Thank you anyway.
