You should read the 'debian reference'. its on the web site or can be downloaded as a deb package. Beyond that, Martin Krafft wrote 'the Debian system' book, which is exclusiely about Debian. ps. could you use something other than 'Admin' in the From line, I'd prefer 'Ted' or even a nickname.
