I have a computer for each of my two children (6 and 8 years old). Both are dual boot with Windows XP and Edubuntu. The kids NEVER boot into the Windows side because 1) the Edubuntu is default in grub and 2) They find more things to play with on the GNU/Linux side. I will most likely be wiping out the Windows side very soon because it just takes up space and I can set grub to just boot immediately into the GNU/Linux and speed up the boot process, which makes them happier. I'll also likely switch it over to running Etch, because I am VERY happy with it so far. I am afraid that over the next few years, let loose on a GNU/Linux system that they know the root password for, they'll be far more proficient with it than I am. It is utterly amazing how fast children can learn.
