Hi all,

I've been running into a strange issue with gdm on bootup. The mouse
works, but the keyboard doesn't. This has been opened as bug #406457
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=406457), but I
haven't heard anything back from the maintainer.

I can work around the issue by going to the XDMCP chooser, then coming
back to the gdm login greeter, so it looks like it's a problem with
either my Xconfig, or my kernel. I'm running 2.6.19-rc7 right now,
but I've been beeing seeing this with 2.6.18 and up. I suspect it's
an issue with udev, not creating the keyboard input device entry
quickly enough for gdm to find it on startup.

My debian system is an 'unstable' setup by default, and I update quite
frequently to get the latest packages. I currently have:

   gdm/unstable uptodate 2.16.4-1

installed.

Anyone have any clues?

Thanks,
John
