I've been running Sid for about as long as I've been using Debian. I started with Potato almost two years ago and upgraded to Sid after about my 3rd week using Debian. I've been running it happily ever since. My laptop, desktop, and firewall/webserver/kitchen sink server all run unstable with no problems. The server is at 300+ days uptime with no problems. If you're concerned about breaking something during an upgrade, apt-listchanges and apt-listbugs are great tools to have. It also helps if you have a non-critical system that you can do upgrades on before doing the rest of the machines. In my case, my server and laptop have to be working at all times. My desktop doesn't.
