just to double check -- are you sure that each of these recordings is
encoded the same way? myth can be  little unpredictable as to whether
it transcode's or not. It took me a while to figure this out (using
knoppmyth R5Bsomething). THe point is that I *thought* everything was
being transcoded to the same way, but they weren't. worth a check.

try avidemux. it has an automagical "dvd" setting...
