I am running a VNC server on a computer with Debian stable, and viewing the output on a computer running Debian unstable. Console beeps get passed through the connection, but I would like to be able to play sounds on the server and hear them on the client.
Does esound have this capability? Looking through the manpages, I see I can play sounds with esdplay, with takes the argument --server=host:port. However, this doesnt work. I can't even use that command on the client computer, which uses esd (successfully) to play xmms, xine, vlc, etc. with note (client's name, resolves to 192.168.1.3 by /etc/hosts) or localhost. Also tried after 'esdctl unlock' Another question, which port does esound use? I saw 5001, 16001, and 35091 while I was on google and looking through /usr/share/doc/esound-clients. Any help would be appreciated. -- -johann koenig now playing: Crazy Town - Darkside Today is Sweetmorn, the 40th day of Confusion in the YOLD 3169 http://mental-graffiti.com/rt/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
