You have a system for backing up installed applications? IIRC, you'd have to backup parts of the registry for that. It's definitely possible, but it doesn't beat a clean install since then you'd still have to find the uninstaller and other stuff. From my experience, I'd say that backing up Windows applications is about infeasible.
