KDE has 3 (that I know of) text editors: Kate (my favorite and my IDE for years, since all I needed was the text editor and a console), KWrite, and KWord. apt-cache search KWrite shows only 2 packages, one of which is Kate, but it says, "Kate is a multi document editor, based on a rewritten version of the kwrite editing widget of KDE." and also says, "This package is part of KDE, and a component of the KDE base module." My workstation runs Kubuntu and KWrite was installed with the default and KWrite has shown up before when I've added KDE to a system, so I suspect it is included in the KDE base.
