I got my usb scanner to work only yesterday but I don't think I'll be
much help!

You need to find the 'backend' for sane for your scanner. Unfortunately
I've googled and I can't seem to find one for your model scanner (if you
try using www.google.com/linux you'll get better results than the
generic google home page). Here's a link to a list of backends for
different scanners:

http://64.233.183.104/linux?q=cache:n4FiRjt3cooJ:skolelinux.org/doc/libsane/html/sane-backends.html+primascan+colorado+2400&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=6

If you do find the backend try running "scanimage" from the command line
and it will put out an error message if your scanner has already been
detected: it will include (or at least did for me) a path to copy the
backend file in to.

If scanimage doesn't work, you may need to install the sane packages as
well as xsane.

Sorry I couldn't give better instructions, I hope this gives you some
hints though.

Jon
