There are several reasons for this problem: - Te Linux kernel programmers did split the SCSI device namespace with Linux-2.6 maing a real -scanbus impossible. Try also dev=ATAPI and dev=ATA - With Linux-2.6 cdrecord needs root privileges in order to work correctly. Install suid-root and make sure to use an original cdrecord ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/ - The "cdrecord" derivat on Debian does never work 100% correctly on Linux-2.6, see above for a solution.
