Hello, I upgraded from sarge to etch today. Seems that firefox is gone:
topsi:~# apt-get install firefox Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Package firefox is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package firefox has no installation candidate Not sure, what that means. Looks like there is a version in debian.org: topsi:~# apt-cache showpkg firefox Package: firefox Versions: 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-1 (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.debian.org_debian_dists_etch_main_binary-i386_Packages) Reverse Depends: sun-java5-plugin,firefox mozilla-mplayer,firefox flashplugin-nonfree,firefox xfig-doc,firefox I thought maybe firefox is gone because of the trademark/logo/patch issues, but there is no iceweasel either: topsi:~# apt-cache search iceweasel topsi:~# I had trouble installing firefox in the first place, because I had a backports version of firefox on sarge installed. I removed this version (apt-get remove --purge), but I failed installing the new one. Any hint is welcome.
