I never used synaptic, therefore I cannot comment on your way of fixing the problem; nevertheless, the output of the apt commands suggests that your system is now in a consistent state and should be working. You can change to another Sarge repository if you want; I would furthermore include "contrib" and "non-free", e.g. deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sarge main non-free contrib deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sarge main non-free contrib I also recommend adding a line for the security updates: deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main contrib non-free There is one possible issue with the package pins in your apt preferences: Since the agnola repository has such a high priority there might be cases where the dependencies of agnola packages block security updates in Sarge. However, since your machine is probably used as a desktop computer for multimedia work (and not as a server), you should be OK. Just make sure you are properly firewalled. -- Regards, Florian -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
