I had an Alcatel ADSL modem, and it was a right royal PITA! I have now got Ethernet broadband, and it is better^2
I Googled loads and found bits and bobs, and eventually got it working. However the driver for the modem was not OS, and I didn't like that much. There is a HOWTO at TLDP: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DSL-HOWTO/index.html HTH Ben -----Original Message----- From: Willem-Jan Meijer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 20 June 2003 13:47 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: USB adsl modem Hello all, A friend of my has an adsl connection for a week now and he wants a server with debian. The modem is a USB modem and my experiences with debian and usb aren't that good that I can say it's going to work. How can I get the modem working? Is it auto-detected during the installation? Or can I get a cable from usb to rj45? -WJ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
