silly me. i got it an now i can run gpm ...
but the install broke my mouse config! i can't move either the
trackpad or the USB mouse now :(
removing gpm didn't do anything to fix it. and now i have a broken
mouse. crap.
fyi, i'm trying all combos of /dev/{psaux,mouse,gpmdata}; repeat tye =
raw/none; type= {autops2,mman,ps2} ... nothing works.
