What is /dev/.initramfs?

rkhunter complains about the directory "/dev/.initramfs". This directory 
contains the file "progress_state" which contains the line 
"PROGRESS_STATE=6". A search didn't find much except a hint that this 
might have something to do with package sysvinit.

Is "/dev/.initramfs" supposed to be in my system? How do I find out 
which package is responsible for a file like 
"/dev/.initramfs/progress_state"?
