Dan ...Hello :-) I could be wrong, about this, and you're doing fine so far in taking other list members' suggestions ...but also; First - Please try to _not_ use HTML formatted text in your emails to the list --> (debian-user(at)lists.debian.org) is the list name. Select *Plain Text* as the preference to Reply within whatever Outlook Express's GUI is. I've never used OE, so I can't say how - plus each version is likely somewhat different. Also, if possible, set OE to wrap at 72 lines, perhaps 80 tops, but I think 72 might work better :-) Secondly - Please try to keep the "Subject" the *same*, or if necessary only modify it by appending the text at the end of the line...e.g; If; Orig subject--> "Re: Debian DVD autostart from boot DOS prompt" Modified subject--> CCing how to - was "Re: Debian DVD autostart from boot DOS prompt" Others can better explain that one to you though :) Now... How old is that Dell Optiplex ? Most PCs built circa 1995 and later *can* and *do* Boot from CDROM. Try using the Fn keys, during Bootup, to enter a "selective startup mode"...Try F12 (works on a Dell Dimension) - and F2 enables (or some other keypress like the [Del] key) one to enter into BIOS "Setup" - from within the BIOS, you can alter the Boot Device Order...make it look like this; 1. CDROM 2. Floppy 3. HDD Most everybody's BIOS setup is slightly different (varying Mobo manu, and BIOS vendors), so it's hard to say exactly where and which BIOS screens/heading/pages this "IDE Configuration" is located under. Just trying to help... Good job cutting down the sig...and GOD Bless :-) Regards p.s. It's natural for the western world to Read from Top --> Bottom, not the reverse - so 'Top Posting' is usually frowned upon since it makes reading a post/thread very awkward at best. p.s.s. I left your sig in this reply (this one time only), because I like it and agree wholeheartedly (also with the huge sig you had before, ...but this *is* a Debian OS list (not another *type* of list), but some latitude is given nonetheless when it comes to OT stuff (Off-Topic)), but I always "trim" (remove) anyone/everyone's sig, when replying, as do most list posters/responders. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
