Even when Germany, England, and etc, had no restrictions on private arms, their crime rates were lower than what Americas was, even as astoundingly low as it was before gun control. However, that book was written years before England finally violated their thousand years of history of the Gentleman Yeoman by prohibiting private arms, so you might ask one of their Bobbies why they're carrying guns now when they didn't have to for a hundred years after their founding as the world's first professional police force.
