I live in Philomath, which is a fair distance (~90 mi) from OSDL, but I'm mere minutes from the OSU Open Source Lab ( http://osuosl.org/ ). Re: average users - Some of my family members know what Linux is, a couple of them would recognize it only as some "computer thing" I had mentioned before, and one uses it, but might be hard pressed to explain exactly what an OS is. I doubt anyone in my father's family has heard of Linux. My brother on the other hand has used it at school and may set up a Linux file server soon. (Gamer + in school learning .NET with VS means he is not likely to switch his desktop.) Cheers, Kelly
