Actually, you need Adobe Reader in excately two cases:

  * you want to read DRM restricted ebooks.
  * you want to read CMYK.

As mentioned by someone other, we do have adobe-reader packages on
Debian Unofficial. Due to some archive restructuring, I'm re-uploading
it since the morning (including the other languages versions than
English, and the asian font packages). Expect it to be there tomorrow.
