I have tried to burn 4 Knoppix cdr's using different programs including trying windoze nero with the exact same results.....the cd burns but does not produce a bootable cd. Their web site seems to indicate that if you can sucessfully burn a cd with the Knoppixxxx.iso file that it should boot. That has not worked. I was wondering if I need to try using the el torrito boot feature plus the image.I suspect you're burning the .ISO as a file to the CD, rather than using the .ISO to burn an image. If you mount one of your burned CDs, do you see a bunch of files, or just the KNOPPIX.ISO file? If the latter, you're just not clicking on the correct options in your burner software.
BTW these are my first attempts at using Debian SID apps to burn a cd. Any tips or experiances would be appreciated. Thanks!
I eventually found that the easiest way for me is to use ecliptroaster (apt-get install eroaster). There's like five buttons down the left-hand side; the third one or so is the one you want (sorry, don't have the app accessible at the moment to be more precise).
