1) cd dir_of choice
2) apt-get source smarty-gettext
3) cd smarty-gettext-$VERSION
4) $EDITOR debian/control
Change the Depends line from php4-cli to php5-cli and save it
5) dpkg-buildpackage
6) cd ..
here you will find your package.
