1) make pgdump_all to a differen partiton 2) stop your pstgresql entirely 3) flush the DiskCache manauly 4) tar the whole /usr/lib/postgresql directory and store the tarball on a secure partition or pother place 5) use dpkg-repack to make a debian package of the installed pstgresql version for security.
