perhaps debconf is configured to use gnome or kde widgets (and hence X) for interaction. i use 'dialog' because it does not require root to have access to the X server, it works well on the virtual consoles, and over ssh. # dpkg-reconfigure debconf just an idea, dont know if this is the problem you are having. -matt zagrabelny -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
