It does if you have read-edit, mdetect, and discover installed. I don't know why it skips this when reconfiguring under dpkg-reconfigure, but it does so quite deliberatly: # if configuring for the first time, ask if user wants to autodetect if [ -z "$RECONFIGURE" ]; then if which get-edid > /dev/null 2>&1; then ... -- see shy jo
