I think you mean /etc/hostname But when you change it, you'll need to be sure to add the new hostname to /etc/hosts with the IP address of 127.0.0.1 -- I usually have a GPG digital signature included as an attachment. See http://www.gnupg.org/ for info about these digital signatures.
