Thank you for the link to the fglrx-installer document. I have a
question about kernel options. From Section 2.1.1:

-----
2.1.1 Recommended kernel options

CONFIG_MTRR=y
The fglrx driver needs MTRR (Memory Type Range Register) support

# CONFIG_FB is not set
CONFIG_FB_VESA=y is supposed to work, but it appears that it can cause
"mtrr overlapping" errors;
CONFIG_FB_RADEON=y definitely causes problems, so disable it.
-----

My current kernel options are:

There is no CONFIG_MTRR option present.

CONFIG_FB=y
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON_OLD is not set
CONFIG_FB_RADEON=y
CONFIG_FB_RADEON_I2C=y
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON_DEBUG is not set

There is no CONFIG_FB_VESA option present.

So, my best guess is that my options should be:

CONFIG_MTRR=y
# CONFIG_FB is not set
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON_OLD is not set
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON is not set
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON_I2C is not set
# CONFIG_FB_RADEON_DEBUG is not set

And forget about CONFIG_FB_VESA.

Does that seem right, or am I preparing to shoot myself in the foot?
