In which files i can find which modules should load

Hi i have compiled my own 2.6.14.5 kernel in Sid and have compiled a
lot of stuff in the kernel which otherwise would be loaded as modules.
But now when i start de computer i see that my system is still looking
for these modules. I already looked in /etc/modules be they are not
called in there.

Is there also a boot.log file somewhere i can check for what is done
by the init process ?
