Well, I don't have any idea why this symbol would be undefined.
libaspell.so.15 is linked against libstdc++5, and

$ nm -D libstdc++.so.5 | grep _ZTVN10__cxxabiv120__si_class_type_infoE

Both gaim and sylpheed-claws have been rebuilt with security updates.
Do the pre-security-updated-versions work?

Also, what architecture are you using?  i386, aka x86?
