Hello,
I'm running debian unstable with the 2.4.27-2-k7 kernel image. I'm trying to upgrade to 2.6.12-3-multimedia-k7, which is a kernel image from an AGNULA/DeMuDi apt source. After apt-getting and rebooting, it fails att bootup. I get the following message:

ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432: cannot open /dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

I suspect this is because I have an SATA drive. I've tried changing "hde" to "sda" in grub's config and in fstab, but i still get the same error. What should I do?

Thanks,

Péter
