If you haven't installed the "about:config" extension, you should. There's no other way to set some of the preferences (aside from editing the .js file, which you can't really do while TB is running). Having done that, add the following two preferences: network.protocol-handler.app.http network.protocol-handler.app.https both are strings, and should be set to "mozilla-firefox".
