Hello!
I don't know how to handle that:
The system powers off the display after 10 minutes even if xscreensaver
is not running and the green on-lamp on the computer-box starts
blinking. It is possible to wake up the display again by a
keyboard-strike but not by moving the mouse, the green lamp on the
computer-box then stops blinking This can be repeated many times.
But there is a real hanging if ju wait too long (20 minutes or so). Then
it's even completely impossible to shutdown the system by pushing the
on/off button on the computer-box, you have to pull out the cord and put
it back.
There was SUSE-Linux on the System before I installed Debian Sarge on it
and then things happened as described.
Any log messages anywhere?
If not, can you run a trace to a file that shows what process initiates
the power-down?
