Unfortunately, it seems that memtest86+ isn't that good. I was in a similar situation some weeks ago and I sent a message to the Linux Kernel mailing list.

One poster there told me to use a program called goldmemory (obtained from www.goldmemory.cz) and it was able to find errors that memtest86+ couldn't.

It is not open source (unfortunately), but perhaps it would help you identify the problems you have.
