mouse button bounce

I have a problem with a mouse button, sometimes when activated it 
bounces and that acts like I hit the button twice.

Is there a way I can tell gnome to ignore the second button click if it 
happens within a very small time frame?

That is to say the mouse button clicks need to be more that 0.1 seconds 
appart to be consider two clicks.
